Description
Swiss Chard Fire Fresh – Growing Instructions
- Optional – Soak the seed for 4 hours in room temperature water.
- Sow the seeds directly onto a moistened growing medium, which is 3-5cm deep.
- Cover the seeds with growing medium and lightly mist the seeds with water.
- Place the seeded tray into a second tray without drainage holes. This will allow you to bottom water the tray
- Cover with another tray on top to stop light getting in. Then place a weight inside to encourage the roots to grow down and to help the seeds make good contact with the growing medium.
- Leave the seeds undisturbed for 4-5 days, there should be enough moisture in the tray for the seedlings. If not, then lightly mist the seeds.
- The seeds should be above 2cm tall and ready to be placed in a well-lit location for 8-16 days.
- When watering the seedlings, keep using the bottom tray.
- Harvest when the seedlings are 5cm tall. Cut the stems above the soil line with a knife or scissors.
